AREA GUIDE

East Dulwich

Nestling nicely between gentile Dulwich Village on one side and trendy Peckham on the other, East Dulwich truly gets the best of both worlds.

Lordship Lane is the epicentre of this sought-after south London spot, and it’s easy to see why. The bustling high street boasts a bevy of interesting independent shops selling everything from carefully curated perfumes (Roullier White) and irresistible homeware (Ed) to juicy steaks (William Rose butchers – get up early to beat the queue outside on a Saturday!).

There are supermarkets too of course, plus a few high street favourites such as Oliver Bonas, Sweaty Betty and White Stuff.

Immensely popular with families, East Dulwich certainly isn’t short of things to keep small folk amused, from the members-only Gymboree soft play club to kids’ showings at the Picture House and the much-loved Horniman Museum in neighbouring Forest Hill.

There are plenty of green spaces for all ages to run around too, thanks to Dulwich Park, Peckham Rye and Goose Green. And the peaceful Dulwich and Sydenham Hill Woods are well worth a visit. With over 40 acres of ancient woodland to explore, you really can get away from it all… safe in the knowledge that in East Dulwich everything you could possibly want is right on your doorstep.

East Dulwich is a vibrant area which appeals to young professionals and families alike.  The community feel is fantastic and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!
